Jose Mourinho reportedly has 2 games to save his job at Chelsea

Think he’ll win them?

Jose Mourinho did not lose his job for losing to Liverpool this weekend, but it’s being widely reported that he’s on the ropes. According to ESPN FC, Mourinho will have to show big improvement and get results over the next two matches to keep his position at Chelsea.

If their information is accurate -- and this is being insinuated at multiple outlets, just not stated quite as strongly -- the timing makes sense. Even if Chelsea fall farther behind Spurs and Liverpool with a bad result at Stoke, a replacement would have plenty of time to get them back into the top four if they took over in November. This weekend’s match is also the last before an international break, so Mourinho’s replacement would likely be able to take the reins from their first match back, as opposed to having an assistant take charge of a game or two.
