Late in a match on Saturday in the Belgian Jupiler league, Sint-Truiden was trailing KSC Lokeren 1-0. They’d tried absolutely everything they could to get a goal in the match, needing points to keep up with the pack near the top of the table. Lokeren needed the win to help stay out of the relegation zone, so they fought as hard as they could to keep Sint-Truiden from scoring.
Goalkeeper adds insult to injury, scores last-second goal AND shoves opposing keeper into post
When all else fails, send the goalkeeper up.

Finally, late in stoppage time, Sint-Truiden’s manager went with an old manager’s adage. “When all else fails, sent the keeper up.” That’s exactly what he did, summoning William Dutoit out from his goal for a corner. Normally the keeper just joins the melee in front of goal to put an extra body in there and hope that something good happens. This time, though, he saw an opportunity at the near post to beat his Lokeren counterpart, Davino Verhulst. Beat him Dutoit did, winning the ball, knocking it into goal, and sending Verhurlst into his own post for good measure.
The crowd quite rightfully went nuts, even though Sint-Truiden were the visitors on the day. After all, how often do you see a goalkeeper find the back of the net?
