Leicester City have made Premier League history in becoming the first-ever team to go from being bottom of the table one Christmas to top the next, and Claudio Ranieri's side have now set their sights on going the distance. With every passing week the Foxes look more like genuine title contenders, and they'll look to record their fourth straight victory away against off-form Liverpool at Anfield on Boxing Day.

Leicester will hope to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table when they take on Liverpool on Saturday.

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp appeared to have turned the Reds' fortunes almost immediately after replacing Brendan Rodgers, but the Merseysiders have hit a snag over the last couple of weeks. They've picked up only one point from a possible nine in their last three matches, and suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat away at newly promoted Watford last weekend. They're going to be eager to atone for their errors and gift their supporters a belated present.
Key player: Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City)
Premier League top scorer Jamie Vardy is the man who has stolen the headlines for Leicester this season, but it's arguably his teammate ahrez who's been more important in the Foxes' all-around play. The Algerian winger has been in some sensational form, trailing Vardy by only a couple of goals and chipping in with the Premier League's second-most assists. He's going to be difficult for Liverpool's defense to keep quiet.
Recent history
It has generally been Liverpool who’ve got the better of Leicester in their most recent meetings, with the Reds winning four and drawing two of their last six matches. Indeed, one has to go back to May 2000 for the last time the Foxes won away at Anfield. If they’re to continue their fairy tale campaign in this match, Leicester will have to defy the history books once more.
Liverpool injuries and suspensions
Out: Jon Flanagan, Joe Gomez, Danny Ings (knee); Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Rossiter, Martin Škrtel (hamstring); James Milner (calf). In doubt: Dejan Lovren (knee); Simon Mignolet (hamstring).
Leicester City injuries and suspensions
Out: Matty James (knee); Danny Drinkwater, Jeffrey Schlupp (hamstring). In doubt: Jamie Vardy (hamstring).
Liverpool still have a fairly lengthy injury list, with the latest additions being defender Škrtel and midfielder Milner. However, they’ll hope to have Mignolet and Lovren back to bolster their team after minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the Foxes still have to do without midfielder Drinkwater and winger Schlupp, while top scorer Vardy could recover from a hamstring injury in time to play.
