ESPN wants to stage a FIFA presidential debate
Can they get it done with Sepp Blatter out of the way?

Ahead of the last FIFA presidential election, there were multiple attempts made to stage a debate, but Sepp Blatter refused. With him out of the picture, ESPN is trying to get the ball rolling again. There’s a good chance it could make for some of the most boring TV we’ve ever seen, but the candidates could start slinging mud, too.
In keeping with the spirit of FIFA, they should sell the TV rights to the debate, promise that all the money will go to grassroots and women’s soccer, then the candidates should skim 1 percent off the top for themselves.
