They won their group, and they’ll be big favorites to get by Shakhtar Donetsk in the Round of 16, but Tuesday’s trip to Ukraine might be tough (2:45 p.m. ET, FOX Sports 2).
As usual, Shakhtar have not played a competitive match since December, as the Ukranian league takes a very long winter break. The weather conditions might favor them on Tuesday, but the Bavarians won’t be complete strangers to cold weather. This match is being held in Lviv, as the ongoing conflict around Donetsk makes it impossible for Shakhtar to play matches at their home stadium.
