Liverpool had been coasting their way through most of their second leg match against Besiktas in Istanbul despite nursing a narrow 1-0 lead after the first leg. The English side had struggled to create chances, and in the second half, Besiktas started surging forward in force.

In a run of play that saw Besiktas' stars Gokhan Tore and Demba Ba try to create something, it was January signing Tolgay Arslan finishing it off and bringing Besiktas level in the tie. It was a lovely, curling finish, and it was a perfect way for Arslan to introduce himself to his new fans.
