Queens Park Rangers have today announced the resignation of their manager, Harry Redknapp, on medical grounds. Speaking to the club's website, Redknapp thanked the club and his staff and explained that he requires knee replacement surgery:
Harry Redknapp resigns as QPR manager
The relegation candidates are looking for a new manager after a knee injury forces Harry Redknapp to step down.

Sadly I need immediate surgery on my knee which is going to stop me from doing my job in the coming weeks. It means I won’t be able to be out on the training pitch every day, and if I can’t give 100 per-cent I feel it’s better for someone else to take over the reins.
Redknapp had been in charge at Loftus Road since November 2012. He took over with the club in the Premier League and, though the club was relegated to the Championship at the end of the 2013-14 season, he oversaw its return to the top flight via the playoffs the following season. He leaves the club in 19th place in the league. QPR’s next game will be overseen by head of football operations Les Ferdinand and Chris Ramsey.
