Swansea vs. Liverpool 2015: Final score 0-1, Jordan Henderson scores bizarre winner

The Swans were the better side for the first hour but were terrible in front of goal, and Liverpool got lucky on the other end.

Liverpool are still sitting outside of the top four, but they're knocking on the door after their fifth consecutive win on Monday. The Reds are only two points back of rivals Manchester United, thanks to Jordan Henderson's odd (and lucky) goal in a 1-0 victory away to Swansea.

The Swans were actually the much better side in the first half, but lacked composure and quality in the box. Brendan Rodgers' decision to play Adam Lallana as a right wingback didn't work out well at all, while the Swansea midfield surprisingly outplayed Joe Allen and Jordan Henderson. Swansea's best chance of the game came in the 38th minute when Gylfi Sigurdsson curled a shot towards the top corner, but Simon Mignolet came up with a spectacular diving stop.

Liverpool finally came into the game just before the hour mark. In the 58th minute, Raheem Sterling played a ball through to Daniel Sturridge, who cut back for Philippe Coutinho. He hit the post with his side's best chance up to that point.

And really, it remained their best chance, because the winning goal was hardly off a chance at all. Sturridge's perfect through ball to Henderson was the result of a deflection, and Liverpool only got luckier from there. Jordi Amat won the ball with a sliding tackle, but instead of clearing it away, kicked the ball off Henderson, and it ricocheted into the back of the net.

Swansea didn’t challenge the Liverpool goal after that, and the visitors were unlucky not to score again, with Sturridge hitting the post in stoppage time.
