Reigning La Liga champions and Champions League runners-up Atlético Madrid are in a bit of unexpected trouble, having failed to get an away goal in the first leg of their tie against Bayer Leverkusen. Hakan Calhanoglu’s goal has the Bundesliga side in front, and Atléti are facing a tough task in the second leg at home.

Can Atléti win without an away goal?

Bayer have the benefit of knowing exactly what they have to do in this game to go through, and one goal could be enough to see them through. If they’re able to get on the board first, Atléti will have to score three times.
Atlético Madrid will be able to field a strong team, but they're missing a number of key players. Tiago is suspended, while central defender Diego Godiín, midfielder Saúl Ñíguez and fullback Guilherme Siqueira will miss out. However, the good news for them is that star midfielder Koke, who Saúl's been replacing recently, is back in contention.
The only player Bayer Leverkusen are missing for sure is Robbie Kruse, while there are doubts about the fitness of Lars Bender, Tin Jedvaj and Emir Spahić. Neither of those last two would be a big miss individually, but Bayer is very thin in defense if both are out.
