Sunderland and England international Adam Johnson has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a girl under the age of 16. There are few details at this point, but here's what we know.

The Telegraph reported earlier on Monday that three unmarked police cars and a van arrived at an unidentified player’s home this morning to question him in connection with the allegations. Police said that a 27-year-old man was taken into custody, but declined to name him.

Shortly afterwards, the player’s name was released and reported by various sources, including Sky Sports News.

Sky Sports is also reporting that Johnson remains in police custody and is cooperating with their investigation. Pending the outcome of the investigation, Johnson has been suspended by Sunderland, and has since been bailed.
