It’s been a ridiculously unlucky season for Daniel Sturridge, who keeps picking up injuries just as he’s getting fit from a previous one. He was finally back to full fitness and playing fairly well, scoring a goal against Manchester United and earning an England recall, but he’s picked up a hip injury. Sturridge will likely miss around a month.
Backheel Breakfast: Daniel Sturridge has yet another injury
The Liverpool striker’s had awful luck this year, but will this injury hurt his team much at all?

While Liverpool would rather have Sturridge healthy than not, and he’s their best striker when on form, this might not hurt them much in the short term. They looked like a more comfortable team with Raheem Sterling in the center forward spot, and he hasn’t been on top form since being taken out of that spot to make way for Sturridge.
Liverpool have an entire summer to figure out the best way to play Sturridge and Sterling together, but for the next couple of months, it might be best to not try to shoehorn them into the same side. This injury is awful for Sturridge, but it just made Brendan Rodgers’ job a lot easier.

What to watch on Wednesday
There are tons of Euro 2016 qualifiers, but two are easily accessible and worth your time.
Spain vs. Ukraine (3:45 p.m.) - There’s a good chance that this group will have three teams that make the tournament, but if this game produces a loser, that team is probably playoff bound.
England vs. Lithuania (3:45 p.m.) - The Three Lions are coasting to first place and should win again, even if they aren’t entertaining and their fans grumble a lot.
