The Netherlands put together an impressive World Cup run last summer, but they haven’t carried that momentum into Euro 2016 qualifying, and now find themselves in some serious danger. It helps that the tournament has been expanded and a third place finish in Group A will likely still send them to a playoff, but they need at least a draw against Turkey on Saturday to feel comfortable in that spot.

Saturday’s game is massive in Euro 2016 qualifying.

Iceland and the Czech Republic both recorded impressive home wins over the Netherlands, who sit on six points through four games. The good news for the Oranje is that Turkey haven’t fared any better against the top two, and also drew away to Latvia. However, Turkey will jump over the Netherlands and go into second place with an upset win in this game.
In a big boost for the Turks, Hakan Calhanoglu has returned to the team. The Bayer Leverkusen star has missed out on some recent squads because of personal differences with Gokhan Tore over an incident where the latter allegedly pulled out a gun, but they’ve apparently been able to settle those differences well enough that they can both be included in the squad.
