Barcelona had a good week thanks to Real Madrid's draw allowing them to close within two points of the league leaders, then they followed that up with a comfortable win over Villarreal to advance to the Copa del Rey final. Now Barca must keep that momentum going with a home match against mid-table Rayo Vallecano.

Barcelona can move into first place with a win at home over Rayo.

Thanks to Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat t the hands of Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, Luis Enrique’s team could find themselves on top of La Liga if they can take care of business at home. On paper, Rayo is a team that Barca should be without much trouble, but they should’ve beaten Málaga at home a couple weeks ago too.
Barca will be without their midfield anchor Sergio Busquets after he suffered an ankle injury in their midweek win. Defender Thomas Vermaelen remains sidelined, having still not played a single minute for the Blaugrana since joining the club over the summer.
