Chelsea had a chance to celebrate a Premier League title after this match, but after only managing a draw at the weekend against Arsenal, a win over Leicester City would only see them pull closer to the title, though it would set up a probable victory celebration at home this weekend. That celebration has been Chelsea’s goal from the first kick of the season, so you know they’ll be looking to do everything they can to hasten its arrival.

A win would see Chelsea stand mere inches from the Premier League title. Can they stay focused and set themselves up for a big party this weekend?

For Leicester, they’re hoping for a fifth straight win, something no one would have seen coming even two months ago. The Foxes have surged in to their best form of the season, catapulting out of the relegation zone. They’re still far from out of danger, though, just one point above Sunderland for the last relegation spot and four clear of QPR. They’re still in dire need of every point they can scrape together, though, so don’t expect them to play in a defensive shell just because they’re facing the might of Chelsea.
Key player - Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)
With Oscar likely to sit out after suffering an apparent concussion against Arsenal over the weekend, the playmaking burden falls on Fabregas for this match, something he hasn’t always handled well of late. Given a supporting playmaking role, he’s been very good for Chelsea for most of the season, but when he’s the creative focal point, he’s tended to struggle. Especially with Chelsea likely to start Didier Drogba, who has been struggling up top, it’s going to be important for Fabregas to be at his best in this match.
Key Matchup - Leonardo Ulloa (Leicester City) vs. Gary Cahill (Chelsea)
Ulloa’s form has been key to Leicester’s recent resurgence. While he’s only scored one goal in recent matches himself, he’s been a constant threat and the attention he’s demanded has created space and opportunities for his teammates to exploit. Cahill has had some issues of late with his positioning and discipline, so if anyone is going to suffer from Ulloa’s presence, it might just be him.
Leicester City injuries and suspensions
Out: none In doubt: Jamie Vardy (ankle), Jeffrey Schulpp (calf), David Nugent (calf)
Chelsea injuries and suspensions
Out: Loic Remy (calf) In doubt: Thibaut Courtois (hip), Oscar (head), Diego Costa (hamstring)
Neither side is without too many players, though both attacks are a little thin right now. Chelsea’s depth is better suited to handling their injuries, though Leicester’s attack is probably their deepest position group, especially since the arrival of Andrej Kramaric.
