Netherlands vs. USA live stream: How to watch the USMNT online

Jurgen Klinsmann is getting his team ready for the Gold Cup with some tough away games.

A Gold Cup final appearance and a competitive showing against Mexico is the minimum expectation for the United States men’s national team this summer, and Jurgen Klinsmann didn’t think that some cupcake friendlies at home were going to help his team get better. Instead, he’s taking them on the road to face some tough opponents, starting with the Netherlands on Friday.

There will be no debutants for the USMNT in this squad, but Klinsmann has brought along a few of the youngsters he’s tested out this spring. William Yarbrough, Ventura Alvarado, Alfredo Morales, Miguel Ibarra, Gyasi Zardes, Bobby Wood and Jordan Morris are all fringe players who will be hoping to win spots on July’s Gold Cup squad. There have also been recalls for Brek Shea and Juan Agudelo, who have won over Klinsmann with good performances in MLS.

Despite being strong favorites to win their group, the Netherlands are in a bit of trouble in Euro qualifying. This is a warm-up game for their competitive match against Latvia, which they’ll need to win to feel good about their chances of finishing top-two ahead of the Czech Republic or Iceland.

The United States are without some of their key players for injury and personal reasons. Clint Dempsey, Alejandro Bedoya, Jermaine Jones, Omar Gonzalez and Tim Howard are all out, while the Sporting KC pair of Graham Zusi and Matt Besler have been left off this squad as well. The Netherlands have omitted Arjen Robben, Nigel De Jong and Michel Vorm from their squad for various reasons.

Match date/time: Friday, 2:30 p.m. ET, 8:30 p.m. local

Venue: Amsterdam Arena

TV: ESPN (U.S. - English), Univision Deportes (U.S. - Spanish)

Online: If you’re in the U.S., you have a couple of good options for watching online. If you’re an ESPN subscriber, you can catch the game for free and in English on Watch ESPN. If that’s not an option for you or you prefer to watch in Spanish, the game is also streaming on Univision Deportes en vivo.
