Colombia vs. Mexico, 2015 World Cup: Start time, TV schedule and live stream

Can El Tri improve on their solid showing in the last World Cup?

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

No two teams in the 2015 World Cup may be more similar than Colombia and Mexico. Both are regular qualifiers for major tournaments and competitive with good teams, but unable to get over the hump and challenge the top sides in their region. But if one of them wins Tuesday, they could be bound for their first ever World Cup knockout stage appearance.

These teams actually have some recent history, drawing 1-1 at the recent Pan-American Games. In the previous edition of that tournament, Mexico defeated Colombia, 1-0, on extra time. They’re extremely evenly matched, though Mexico has a bit more professional experience among their ranks, and will consider themselves slight favorites.

Both Colombia and Mexico will be massive underdogs in their other two matches, so this is a must-win. It's likely that someone makes the knockout round finishing in third place on just three points, and one of these sides could be the one that pulls that off.

Match date/time: Tuesday, 4 p.m. ET

Venue: Moncton Stadium, Moncton, Canada

TV: FOX (U.S. - English), Telemundo (U.S. - Spanish), TSN (Canada), UnivisionTDN/Gala TV (Mexico), DirecTV Play (Colombia)
