USA vs. Panama, Gold Cup 2015: Time, TV schedule and team news

Jurgen Klinsmann’s team has their group clinched, so expect another experimental USMNT lineup.

While the United States haven’t been spectacular so far in the Gold Cup, they’re also doing a lot better than Mexico and Costa Rica. Unlike their two biggest rivals, they’ve clinched first place in their group, meaning they don’t have to post any result at all against perennial spoilers Panama on Monday.

For three Gold Cups in a row, Panama has taken points off one of the U.S. or Mexico, and this game could very well make it four straight. After the Honduras win, Jurgen Klinsmann changed his entire back line while also moving Clint Dempsey and Michael Bradley into different positions. In this game, he’s going to do some more tinkering with the defense and he might opt to give his two biggest stars a rest.

Two of the players yet to feature for the United States that might get a look in this match are Alejandro Bedoya and Alfredo Morales. Despite having solid club seasons and regular matches for the U.S. over the last year, they've yet to play. Against Panama, they should be given a chance to prove they shouldn't be among the six players who get swapped out at the end of the Gold Cup group stage.
