Pedro was expected to start the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday due to Neymar's illness, but Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez revealed why he didn't make the starting XI just before the match. "Pedro has told me he wants to go", Fernandez said, so Pedro sat on the bench.

In the 78th minute, up 4-3, Barca made a defensive substitution. They conceded anyway, and Sevilla forced extra time. That put Luis Enrique in a tough spot, and he decided to try to win the match. In the 93rd minute, he brought Pedro into the game for Javier Mascherano, despite the La Masia product asking to depart. If he got hurt and it stopped him from completing a transfer, he'd have been pretty annoyed.
Not only did he manage to not get hurt, he scored the winning goal in the 115th minute.
Presumably, Pedro will exit shortly, to be confirmed as a Manchester United player within a week. He gets to leave his boyhood club having won them a trophy with one of his final kicks of the ball.
