Despite the fact that he had been vaccinated, Neymar managed to pick up mumps. He'll be out for a couple of weeks, which means he'll miss the UEFA Super Cup, the Supercopa de España and the start of Barcelona's La Liga season.
Neymar will miss UEFA Super Cup with mumps
Well that vaccine didn’t work.

The good news for Barca is that Neymar won’t miss anything that’s actually important. He should be completely healthy in time for the UEFA Champions League group stage and El Clásico.
The bad news is that the Blaugrana are going to be pretty thin for their first few matches. Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan have signed up, but can't play matches until January. Pedro hasn't been sold yet, but since big money moves for him are being negotiated, he's likely to sit out. Either Munir will have to start -- like he did while Barca were waiting for Luis Suarez's suspension to expire -- or Luis Enrique will have to shuffle his team around.
Mumps is quite contagious, so hopefully none of Neymar’s Barca teammates are taken out.
