Viktor Fischer scores lovely first-time goal for Ajax

Viktor Fischer marked his first start after an injury-plagued season with a lovely goal.

Ajax haven’t had the most pleasant experiences in Europe the last couple of years, and their Europa League group campaign got off to a rough start thanks to an early Celtic goal. Thanks to Viktor Fischer, though, the Scottish team’s lead didn’t last long.

That’s a lovely finish for Fischer, and it’s especially good to see coming from him. The Danish starlet looked primed for a huge breakout last season, but lost basically the entire year to injury. This was his first start for Ajax this season after scoring once in three Eredivisie substitute appearances, so scoring today was especially meaningful for Fischer.
