Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal responds to criticism by calling reporter fat

He seems to be handling the pressure very well.

Manchester United looked like a mess on Monday, drawing Newcastle United 3-3. Wayne Rooney wasn't very good, which has been a running theme this season, so a reporter asked him about Rooney's form. He responded by leaving the press conference and insulting various reporters and calling one fat.

“We don’t speak anymore about Wayne Rooney,” van Gaal said, getting up to leave in protest. “You have criticized him. I don’t. You,” He then proceeded to point out two more reporters other than the one that asked the question. “You too. You too, fat man.”

Van Gaal reportedly offered his resignation after United's 2-0 loss to Stoke City, but it was not accepted by CEO Ed Woodward. However, if United fails to beat Liverpool this weekend, it's likely that van Gaal and Woodward might come to an agreement about him needing to leave his position. He's clearly not handling criticism well at all, and in his TV interview after the Newcastle game, he sounded like a very defeated man.
