You'd think that after winning the Copa America Centenario this summer, Chile would be high flying and happy as can be. The way things have gone since then have dampened their celebrations, though, as Chile have failed to win a match since then, losing two and drawing one in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying action.
Chile vs. Peru 2016 live stream: Time, TV schedule, and how to watch World Cup qualifying online
Chile haven’t won in their last three World Cup qualifying matches in CONMEBOL, and they need to reverse that trend before they fall out of contention.

It’s been a rough road for the Chileans, and with a date against Peru on Tuesday it might not be about to get any easier. Chile have lost their spark and have barely looked like the same team they’re capable of being, and with Peru showing a lot of toughness of their own in their last few matches. Peru are still three points behind Chile in the qualifying group table -- and Chile themselves are five points out of a qualifying place -- but they can close that gap with an upset win, one that Chile are looking ripe to suffer right now.
Of course, if Chile can figure out how to solve their problems on the pitch, they can get things moving in the right direction again, and they know that they need to. That’s easier said than done, however, and Chile will need to be much, much better than they’ve been of late if they’re going to get a win over Peru. To do that, they need more players to step up, as Alexis Sanchez can’t do everything himself -- their midfield and defense have to be much better than they’ve been in the last three matches if they’re going to win again.
