The international break and the round of club fixtures after it have made way for Liverpool vs. Manchester United, which will have center stage all to itself on Monday night (3 p.m. ET, NBCSN). Liverpool were hot heading into the break while United was struggling to get results, but thanks to World Cup qualifying, that doesn’t matter anymore.

United was actually very good in their last match, a draw against Stoke City, but couldn’t finish their chances. They nearly walked away with a win anyway, before David De Gea made a rare error in the dying minutes to gift Stoke an equalizer. Liverpool has won four in a row, but barely scraped by Swansea City in their last match.

While Liverpool comes into this game with a ton of injury questions, United has a fully fit squad. It’s tough to guess exactly who will take the pitch for the Reds on Monday night, with a half-dozen players picking up minor injuries between the Swansea match and international games.

Key player: Philippe Coutinho

When Coutinho is on top form, Liverpool are extremely difficult to slow down, but he has a tendency to go totally missing from the games he’s not dominating. Coutinho often looks like Liverpool’s best player, and United will like their chances of keeping a clean sheet if they can keep him quiet.

Key matchup: Liverpool’s CBs vs. Zlatan Ibrahimovic

While Zlatan Ibrahimovic hasn’t had his finishing boots on lately, he has done some great work for the Red Devils up top and on set pieces. His movement off the ball, hold-up play, passing and ability to win balls in the air make him an excellent player even when he isn’t scoring goals. He’ll be a handful for Liverpool’s central defenders, often thought to be the weakest part of their team.
