By far the biggest match of this round of the League Cup, the Manchester Derby flares up again as Manchester United and Manchester City clash in Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola have a long history of animosity with one another, and if their first meeting in the Premier League earlier this season is any indication, then this will be a high-intensity match -- and one made somewhat more unpredictable given the setting.
Manchester United vs. Manchester City 2016 live stream: Time, TV schedule, and how to watch EFL Cup online
Two bitter rivals go head to head with League Cup advancement on the line.

With this being a mid-week League Cup tilt, it’s likely that both United and City will be rotating their sides fairly heavily to rest key stars, but considering that it’s a rivalry clash they probably won’t sit too many first-teamers like we saw in other matches this round. Even with the relatively low status of the League Cup these days, these two teams are bitter rivals who are in no way interested in potentially ceding a match, especially a knockout match like this, to their enemy. They’ll both be willing to test their reserves under the circumstances, but they’ll also be trying to leave just enough of their major firepower in to take out the other side.
This should be a fascinating match to watch play out with Guardiola and Mourinho forced to come up with new gameplans to beat each other with less-than-full-strength lineups. That will make it a tricky exercise for both managers, and watching managers of their strength work around problems is always an experience worth watching.
