Manchester United are coming off a big win, but they need to start getting more wins right now.

Manchester United are riding high after an emotional League Cup triumph over Manchester City at midweek. But now it’s time for them to turn their attention back to the Premier League, because things aren’t nearly as sunny there right now. They’ve dropped points in five of their last six EPL games, and they need a big win over Burnley if they’re going to stop the bleeding.

The trouble is, Jose Mourinho’s side has been having problems beating teams like Burnley of late. Struggling Stoke City earned a draw at Old Trafford recently, and United lost to Watford two weeks before that. Their focus against the so-called minnows of the EPL has been lacking of late, and coming off the emotional high of their win over City, they may be too drained to get the result they need here.

Add that to the fact that Burnley are in decent form themselves right now — beating a hot Everton side last weekend and holding a recent win over Watford, and only narrowly losing to Arsenal recently — and there are no guarantees that United can just stroll in and win this match. They need to be better; they need to be the side that beat Manchester City. Anything less, and they risk not getting the job done.
