Chelsea are coming into this match riding something of a high, coming off three straight league wins — but they also suffered defeat at the hands of West Ham just a few short days ago in the League Cup. They won’t take that lying down, and they’ll be looking to unleash some wrath on Southampton as they try to continue their march towards the top of the Premier League table.

But Southampton aren’t such easy prey. Despite starting the season in dreadful form, Southampton have turned things around of late, going unbeaten in five matches, a run that includes last weekend’s eyebrow-raising draw with Manchester City away from home. Southampton aren’t the listless, struggling side they were six weeks ago — they’re steadily improving, and up for any challenge presented to them.

Chelsea will need to be focused and hungry in this match to make sure they get the three points they need to keep improving and driving forward this season, but that’s the exact kind of thing manager Antonio Conte specializes in. They may not come out looking to play an exciting game plan in this match, but they will look to win it at almost any cost.

To watch this match online in the U.S. you can stream it on NBC Sports Live. In England, it will be shown on Sky Go, and for listings in other countries you can check out LiveSoccerTV.
