Barcelona are in England to face Manchester City and their former boss Pep Guardiola, and right now they have every reason to feel confident heading into the match. The Spanish giants are on a roll, winning four straight matches between La Liga and Champions League action, and giving up just two goals in those games. That run includes a huge 4-0 win over City at the Camp Nou two weeks ago, and they’ll be eager to make it two wins in two games against Guardiola and company.
Barcelona vs. Manchester City 2016 live stream: Time, TV schedule, and how to watch Champions League online
Manchester City are struggling, and it’s the perfect time for Barcelona to pounce on their former boss.
And in all honesty, it looks like they’ll be able to do just that. Yes, Manchester City are coming off a 4-0 win against West Brom this past weekend, but before that they were on a six-match winless run that included that battering from Barcelona. Their other two losses were against rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, and City were thoroughly unimpressive against Celtic, Everton, and Southampton in a trio of draws.
Suffice it to say that Barcelona are the much better-looking side heading into this game. That’s not to say that City are utterly hopeless — they still have a talented side that matches up well with what the Spaniards bring to the table, and of course Guardiola knows his old team well, and the Etihad Stadium will be loud and fully behind their team. But on form and confidence, it’s hard to look past Barcelona for this one.
