Liverpool have been the surprise packages of the Premier League season so far, with Jürgen Klopp's side having won eight of their first 11 matches en route to a spot at the top of the table. Their title credentials -- having so far successfully withstood challenges from Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, among others -- will face another test on Saturday, when they travel to face Claude Puel's Southampton.
Liverpool vs. Southampton 2016: Start time, live stream, TV schedule, and 3 things to know
Liverpool will look to maintain their good form at the expense of an inconsistent Southampton on Saturday.

It has been a strange start to the season for the Saints, who find themselves smack-bang in the middle of the table at this early stage of the campaign. They've struggled for consistency, winning only three of their first 11 games, but losing only four. It's still difficult to know quite what to make of their dip in form since the departure of manager Ronald Koeman, but we'll certainly know more once Saturday's out.

Three big things to know
1. Southampton's mixed start to the season comes with extenuating circumstances: they currently top the Premier League's injury table with nine players sidelined. They're still waiting on the fitness of Ryan Bertrand and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, who could also miss out.
2. Liverpool's star performer to date has been Philippe Coutinho, with the 24-year-old finally emerging as one of the Premier League's very top talents. He's now being linked with big-money moves away from Anfield, with Barcelona among those said to be lurking. He could, however, miss this match, having picked up a minor injury on international duty.
3. Liverpool have traditionally tended to enjoy playing Southampton, though they suffered defeat in dramatic fashion when these sides last met in March. Liverpool went two goals up, only to be defeated 3-2. The man who netted the winner in the dying minutes was Sadio Mané, who was snapped up by the Merseysiders a few months later.
