Tottenham Hotspur were one of the hottest teams at the start of the EPL season, but of late they’ve been absolutely ice cold. Since beating Manchester City to take the top spot in the Premier League table in early October, the Spurs have failed to win even once. They’ll try to end a long string of futility when West Ham United come across London to visit White Hart Lane.
Tottenham Hotspur vs. West Ham 2016 live stream: Start time, TV schedule, and 3 things to know
Tottenham need to break a long streak of frustration, but they have to beat a rapidly improving West Ham side to do it.

Injuries have played a huge role in Tottenham’s struggles, but with Harry Kane coming back just before the international break, they’ll be hoping that the young striker can work his way back into form and lead the way to get his team three points. If they can’t, though, it might be time to panic in North London.

Three big things to know
- Neither one of these teams are healthy, with the Spurs still missing four starters and key members of their rotation, and West Ham with eight players of varying importance injured or suspended. That’s a tough thing to overcome, especially with Tottenham missing the likes of Toby Alderweireld, who’s been a key part of their defense this season. Having Harry Kane back helps, but they need more than just him right now.
- It’s a rare thing for a team floating just above the relegation zone to be in better form than the team in fifth place, but that’s where we are right now. It’s been six weeks since Tottenham have won in any competition, whereas West Ham have won three of their last five in all competitions, including two of their last four in the EPL. If there was any time for West Ham to get a big upset win over the Spurs, this is the time to do it.
- If Tottenham can’t find a way to get past West Ham in this match, it’s going to take the pressure they’re currently feeling and turn the dial on it up to 11. Despite their earlier successes this season, this long string of futility is getting to a delicate balance point — the situation is threatening to spiral way out of control, something that could ultimately cost Mauricio Pochettino his job. Beating West Ham would go a long ways towards righting the ship, and would by far be the preferable result for the Spurs.
