West Brom and manager Tony Pulis have drawn plenty of critics over the years for styles often seen as unexciting, unproductive, and even counter to actually being good for the sport. But together this season they’ve quietly become a very good side capable of giving big teams a lot of heartache thanks to a focused and efficient approach to the game.
While normally you would expect Arsenal to deal with their challenge quite handily, the fact that the Gunners aren’t in stellar form right now gives a lot of reason for pause. They’ve lost two straight matches 2-1 thanks to late goals after leading both matches early and giving up equalizers around halftime. They need to figure out what’s going wrong and right the ship quickly because Arsenal are falling further and further behind Chelsea — and fifth place is suddenly a lot closer than it was a few weeks ago.
