Aritz Aduriz scores off stunning 35-yard volley

Athletic Bilbao got a crucial Europa League away goal in amazing fashion.

This has been an exceptional season for Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz, so you would imagine that Olympique Marseille would be paying him special attention in their Europa League clash. Well, it seems that someone forgot to pass them the memo.

That is just sublime. Aduriz saw the ball dropping into space off that header, stepped up, and just put his foot through it. He didn’t care that he was 35 yards out, he saw his chance and he took it. Steve Mandanda is a good goalkeeper, but he stood no chance against that shot -- and he has every right to be angry at his defense and midfield since no one bothered to mark Aduriz until it was way too late.
