Brazil vs. Uruguay 2016 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online

Brazil play host to Uruguay in the fifth round of CONMEBOL World Cup qualification on Friday, with both looking to build on solid starts. Brazil find themselves provisionally down in fifth place, having picked up seven points from their opening four games. However, they trail Argentina and Paraguay by just a point, meaning their recent inconsistency won't come as too much of a concern.

Uruguay may be three places better off, but they're only a couple of points ahead of Brazil in the table. Óscar Tabárez's side have won three of their opening four games, with their only defeat being a surprise loss away at table-toppers Ecuador. They head in on the back of a thoroughly impressive 3-0 win over Chile, and are currently looking very much like a team on the rise.

Key player: Luis Suárez (Uruguay)

The big news is that Uruguay striker Luis Suárez will mark his return from a lengthy international suspension in this match. He’s not played a competitive match for his national side since biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup in Brazil a couple of years ago, and coach Tabárez will doubtless be delighted to welcome his star player back into the fold.

Recent history

Brazil have won five of their last six games against Uruguay, and haven’t lost a single meeting with their neighbors since a World Cup qualifier in 2001. Uruguay were beaten 2-1 on their last trip to play Brazil, and remarkably haven’t won away at Brazil since winning a friendly back in 1992. The history books certainly favor the hosts.
