Argentina vs. Bolivia 2016 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online

Argentina will look to record their third straight win when they take on Bolivia on Tuesday.

Argentina failed to win any of their first three World Cup qualifying matches, but have bounced back with consecutive wins over Colombia and Chile. That has left Tata Martino's side down in fifth place, albeit with only tiebreakers keeping them below Brazil and Paraguay. They'll be fully expecting to move on up the table on Tuesday, as they take on a Bolivia side that have lost four of their opening five qualifiers.

Bolivia are traditionally very difficult to beat on their own patch, though not even the altitude of La Paz has proven particularly expedient so far. They’re still almost certainly the worst team in CONMEBOL qualification, with only basement side Venezuela offering them serious competition for the South American booby prize. They’d do very well to merely avoid defeat in Córdoba.

Key player: Lionel Messi (Argentina)

Argentina captain Lionel Messi is almost certainly the best player on the planet, despite increasing competition from his domestic teammates Neymar and Luis Suárez. The tricky forward matches immense close control with an uncanny ability to find the net from just about anywhere on the pitch. It’s a lethal combination that could cause big problems for the Bolivia defence.

Recent history

The magnitude of the task awaiting Bolivia is laid bare when one notes that they’ve lost their last two visits to Argentina by a combined aggregate scoreline of 12-0. Not since 2009 have they managed to beat Argentina (in a freak encounter in La Paz that finished 6-1 to the hosts), and never in their entire history have they won away in meetings between these sides. They need to be rewriting the history books to win.
