After Manchester City lost their local derby to Manchester United, many predicted a downturn that would see the race for fourth place in the Premier League open up and their swift elimination from the Champions League. Instead, they're in the Champions League semifinals and now very comfortably holding onto fourth place as well. They have the brilliance of Sergio Aguero to thank -- he scored a hat trick away to Chelsea in a 3-0 win on Saturday.

In addition to giving his team a four-point cushion over United and an eight-point one over West Ham, Aguero’s fired himself back into the race for the golden boot. Harry Kane currently leads all scorers with 22 goals, but Aguero is just behind him with 21 after this hat trick, while Jamie Vardy has 21 as well. That particular race looks like it’s going to go down to the last day of the season.
