Tottenham Hotspur would provisionally move within two points of league leaders Leicester City with a win over Liverpool in Saturday's late Premier League kickoff. Mauricio Pochettino's side head into the weekend in second place, with their title hopes still alive as we head into the final seven games of the season. It could be a while before they again have such a good opportunity of lifting the famous trophy.

Saturday’s late Premier League kickoff sees Spurs travel to Liverpool with their title hopes still alive.

However, Anfield is rarely an easy place to play, and Jürgen Klopp's side, for all of their disappointments this season, have only been beaten thrice in front of their own fans in the Premier League. They'll also be smarting from a remarkable defeat against Southampton before the international break, when they threw away a two-goal lead to lose, 3-2. Spurs certainly shouldn't be fooled: this should be a rather close encounter.
Key player: Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur)
Perhaps the star of Spurs' campaign so far has been midfielder Dele Alli, who has thoroughly enjoyed his first season as a Premier League first-teamer. The former MK Dons man has relished his role behind striker Harry Kane, and his dynamic play has added both industry and creativity to Pochettino's midfield. He has the talent to once again make the difference on Saturday.
Recent history
The reverse fixture ended goalless at White Hart Lane, ending a run of five straight Liverpool wins against Spurs. Not since November 2012 have Tottenham managed to get one over on Liverpool, and one has to go all the way back to May 2011 for the last time they won away at Anfield. On that day, Rafael van der Vaart and Luca Modrić were on the scoresheet as Harry Redknapp’s side downed Kenny Dalglish’s, 2-0.
Liverpool injuries and suspensions
Out: Joe Gómez, Danny Ings (knee); Jordan Rossiter (hamstring); Kevin Stewart (ankle). In doubt: Lucas Leiva (thigh); Alberto Moreno, Roberto Firmino (hamstring); Christian Benteke (knee); Divock Origi (thigh).
Tottenham Hotspur injuries and suspensions
Out: Nabil Bentaleb, Clinton N'Jie (knee). In doubt: Jan Vertonghen (knee); Erik Lamela (unspecified muscle); Toby Alderweireld (illness).
Liverpool still have four certain absentees, but more concerning are the players facing late fitness tests. Their attack has been hit particularly hard: Firmino, Benteke and Origi are all doubtful, as is fullback Moreno and midfielder Lucas.
Spurs, meanwhile, will be hoping to have two of their regular defenders back in action after injury. Vertonghen and Alderweireld are currently doubtful, but are expected to be available, alongside winger Lamela. However, Bentaleb and N’Jie are still sidelined with knee problems.
