Manchester United team bus gets pelted with bottles after showing up late, delaying another game

For the second time this season, Manchester United officials have underestimated London traffic. They were late showing up to Upton Park on Monday, so their game against West Ham United was delayed for 45 minutes. It was originally set to kick off at 2:45 p.m. ET, but will now start at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Last month, a game between United and Tottenham Hotspur was delayed for the same reason and everyone had jokes. But this time around, there was an added element: once the United bus got close to Upton Park, supporters started pelting it with cans and bottles.

And the players on the bus weren’t the only ones affected.

Hopefully no one is injured.

Eventually, the bus pulled in safely, to a chorus of boos.

This was pretty awful stuff from the group of West Ham fans who participated, and no one seems to have informed West Ham owner David Sullivan about how bad it got.

This isn’t true, obviously, but United defender Chris Smalling doesn’t seem particularly bothered.
