Group A action in the Copa America Centenario will come to a close on Saturday night as Colombia and Costa Rica square off -- and there’s a very good chance that this match will be largely meaningless by the time it starts, if not entirely so.
Costa Rica vs. Colombia 2016 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch Copa America online
This match may ultimately mean nothing in the standings in the Copa America, but it will certainly mean a lot to both teams.

Because the tournament organizers elected not to play the final group stage games at the same time, Colombia and Costa Rica will already know the result of the United States-Paraguay match before they kick off. With the USMNT only needing one point to functionally eliminate Costa Rica -- it would take a seven-goal swing in goal differential for the Ticos to pass the U.S. in that tiebreaker -- and needing three points and a Colombia loss to take first place, there could be very little to play for in this match.
Still, Colombia and Costa Rica won’t back down from each other no matter the situation. Colombia are an excellent team still looking to hit their stride in this tournament, and Costa Rica are a team out to prove that they’re much better than their first two matches have made them look. This match might not mean much in the standings, but to the players on the pitch and the fans in the stands, it still means the world -- and we should see just how much that means before the final whistle blows.
