Ever since their last major tournament win at the Copa América in 2011, Uruguay have had a tough time. Things have unfortunately been no better for the Celeste at the Centenario, where successive defeats to Mexico and Venezuela have ensured they've been eliminated with a group stage game still to play. Óscar Tabárez's men will look to salvage some pride in their final match against Jamaica in California on Monday.

Uruguay will look to salvage some pride against Jamaica in their final Copa América Centenario fixture.

They're certainly the stronger of the two sides on paper, and the Reggae Boyz head into this encounter having also failed to pick up a single point from their first two games. Winfried Schäfer may be able to call on a collection of players with a wealth of experience in England's top two divisions, though that hasn't been enough for them to progress into the knockout stages. They'll look to at least send their fans home happy by pulling off a surprise result here.
Key player: Luis Suárez (Uruguay)
If there is a mitigating factor in Uruguay's lack of success at this tournament, it has been the injury-enforced absence of star man Luis Suárez. The Barcelona striker hasn't managed to recover from a problem sustained in the Copa del Rey final at the end of the domestic season, and caused controversy in the defeat to Venezuela by appearing to publicly criticize coach Tabárez for failing to substitute him on. It'll be interesting to see if Suárez is given any game time in this dead rubber.
Key question: Will Uruguay try to salvage some pride?
Uruguay are doubtless the better of these two sides, though much will come down to whether they can motivate themselves for an almost entirely meaningless match. At the end of an arduous domestic season, and with national team coach Tabárez perhaps coming to the end of his long stint in charge of the Celeste, it could well be Jamaica who head into the game in a better frame of mind.
