Dozens arrested after further clashes at Euro 2016
At least 36 have been arrested after clashes in Lille.

There have unfortunately been further clashes involving British and Russian football supporters, with at least 36 people arrested as a result. At least 16 were hospitalized after trouble once again flared on Wednesday, with fans of England, Wales and Russia all gathered in the northern French city of Lille for their second group stage matches. The Guardian report:
Hundreds of England fans had spent the day drinking outside bars near Lille’s domestic train station. For the most part it was good natured, involving little more than songs and impromptu games of football, but as the afternoon wore on the songs and chants became more specifically anti-Russian, especially with news of Russia’s loss to Slovakia.
England will hope to capitalize on Russia’s defeat to Slovakia with a win over their neighbors in Thursday’s first Euro 2016 match. Wales currently sit atop of the group, with England two points in arrears after being held by Russia in their opening fixture. If what we’ve seen so far is anything to go by, we’re unlikely to have seen the last of the clashes between these fans.
Goal of the day
