Manchester City are out to dominate last season’s giant-killers to show the league just how good Pep Guardiola has made them.

Things haven’t been absolutely perfect for City so far -- there’s some shakiness in midfield and defense to sort out, and Claudio Bravo still needs to settle in as the club’s new number one goalkeeper -- but the season is off to a wonderful start. The squad is taking to Guardiola’s methods well, and the attack seems to be blossoming under his guidance, and with a tough team like West Ham coming to town, it will be a good chance to see just how good City have gotten in the early days of his reign.
West Ham can’t be taken lightly, though -- despite their early season struggles, they’re still the same eager, tough-nosed squad that surprised so many people a season ago. They’re more than capable of bloodying City’s nose if they slip up at all, even without their newly-signed striker Simone Zaza available to play quite yet. They’re eager to show that they can still be the upset kings of the Premier League, and that’s going to go a long ways in this match.
