Paul Clement's first match in charge of Swansea City did not go to plan, with the Jacks succumbing to a 2-0 FA Cup defeat at the hands of Hull City. Things are unlikely to improve this weekend, when the Welsh side welcome Arsenal to the Liberty Stadium in search of back-to-back league victories for the first time since last May. They're only a point adrift of safety at present, but that gap isn't likely to reduce this weekend.

However, they may take some heart from Arsenal's recent struggles. As is their wont, Arsenal have endured a difficult festive period, winning only two of their last five league matches and dropping points against Everton, Manchester City, and Bournemouth. They've now fallen below North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and outside of the top four altogether; they'll surely see this match as a great opportunity to return to winning ways.

1. Swansea will be without Jefferson Montero, Neil Taylor, and new signing Luciano Narsingh, whom are all currently on the treatment table. Modou Barrow faces a late fitness test.

2. Arsenal's list of absentees is considerably longer, and contains a smattering of first-teamers. Santi Cazorla, Mathieu Debuchy, Francis Coquelin, Theo Walcott, and Héctor Bellerín are all injured; Per Mertesacker and Kieran Gibbs are both doubtful. Mohamed Elneny is away at the Africa Cup of Nations, which will likely ensure Grant Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey places in the midfield pivot.
