Everton will look to maintain their strong run of form when they welcome title hopefuls Manchester City to Goodison Park on Sunday. Ronald Koeman's side head into this match in seventh place, with the Toffees having looked impressive since hiring the Dutchman from Southampton in the summer. They'll certainly be hopeful of causing an upset against a shaky City here.

Sunday’s first Premier League fixture sees Manchester City travel to face Everton.

Of course, City head into the match as favorites, with Pep Guardiola's side only seven points adrift of league leaders Chelsea. However, City's defense hasn't always looked the strongest this season, and Everton's star striker Romelu Lukaku will certainly be optimistic about getting the better of his former Toffees teammate John Stones, who is expected to partner with Nicolás Otamendi at the back.

Three big things to know
1. Everton have been struggling with a smattering of injury problems lately, and Muhamed Bešić will miss out once again. Yannick Bolasie is ruled out until the end of the season. Maarten Stekelenburg, James McCarthy and Bryan Oviedo all face late fitness tests, while Idrissa Gueye will certainly miss out; he's currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations.
2. City will certainly be without two familiar faces: Ilkay Gündogan has been sidelined indefinitely with a serious knee injury; his midfield partner Fernandinho is serving the second of a four-match ban. Vincent Kompany, Leroy Sané and Fernando are all in doubt.
3. Everton’s top scorer Romelu Lukaku has netted 11 times in the league this season; that’s as many as City’s most prolific player, Sergio Agüero, has scored so far. Lukaku was on the scoresheet when these sides met at the Etihad back in October, though Nolito netted an equalizer for City in a game that ended 1-1.
