FA Cup fourth-round draw results: Big Premier League sides avoid each other again

There’s no big marquee tie, and Wycombe got the best guaranteed payday.

The chances of two big sides getting to the final of the FA Cup continue to look very good. The Premier League’s big teams all avoided each other in the fourth-round draw, and they’ll all be favorites to move on.

If the draw has any winners, it’s Wycombe Wanderers. The League Two side, which was very close to going out of business a couple of years ago, will take home a seven-figure payday for going away to Tottenham Hotspur. Wycombe’s fourth-tier rivals Accrington Stanley got a nice payoff too, with a draw away to Middlesbrough.

Liverpool will host Wolves if they can win their replay against Plymouth, while Manchester City have to wait to see if they’ll go to Palace or Bolton. Arsenal will go away to Southampton or Norwich, while both Manchester United and Chelsea will be big favorites. They have home ties against Wigan and Brentford, respectively.

Third-round ties requiring replays are currently scheduled for Jan. 17 and 18. Fourth-round matches will be played between Jan. 27 and 30.
