Atlético Madrid vs. Roma 2017 live stream: Time, TV channel, and how to watch Champions League online

Roma can assure themselves of a spot for the Champions League knockout rounds with a win in Spain.

Two teams that often get overlooked and overshadowed by bigger clubs in their respective leagues, it shouldn’t be missed that both Atlético Madrid and AS Roma are excellent teams in their own right, and them going head to head in the Champions League with a lot on the line for both clubs should make for a very fun match.

Roma have the opportunity to not just continue their excellent Champions League form this season, but to lock in a spot in the knockout rounds in 2018. That would be huge for them after most of their last few Champions League runs turned into disappointments, especially with them currently sitting atop a group containing not just Atléti, but also defending English Premier League champs Chelsea. Even a draw would leave them nearly assured of such a spot, but getting it early with a win

For their part, Atlético need a win in a bad way to keep their own Champions League hopes alive, having failed to win a single game in the group so far, sitting on three points with three draws and a loss. Heck, they’re not even completely assured of a Europe League spot should they fall out of the Champions League yet, because they only have a one-point cushion on Qarabag. It’s been a rough season for Diego Simeone and company, but a win here could finally start them on the right path.

Both teams come into this match in relatively good health, with Atlético Madrid missing Sime Vrsljko from injury and Stefan Savic by injury. AS Roma will be without Richard Karsdorp, while Alessandro Florenzi and Patrick Schick are in doubt with their own injury issues.
