Paris Saint-Germain are already in the Champions League knockout rounds, and they can all but assure themselves of first place with a win over Celtic FC on Wednesday as they look to continue their perfect record in Group B.
PSG vs. Celtic 2017 live stream: Time, TV channel, and how to watch Champions League online
Celtic have only the tiniest hope of making the Champions League knockout rounds, and they need a win and a lot of help to get there.
PSG’s incredible atacking trinity of Neymar, Edinson Cavani, and Kylian Mbappe has been nigh-impossible to stop this season, scoring at least thee goals in each of their last four games in all competitions, totaling a stunning 17 goals in that span. But their defense has been just as good of late, forming a stone wall in front of goal and giving up just one goal in that same time.
That’s an intimidating thing for Celtic to face in this match, who are in dire straits in their own hope of knockout rounds qualification. They need to somehow beat a rolling juggernaut in PSG, then hope that Anderlecht find a miracle and beat Bayern Munich. Even then, they need another win against Anderlecht in the last matchday and hope that PSG beats up on Bayern in Germany to create a big swing in goal differential — but all that has to start with a win over PSG, a team that beat them 5-0 in Scotland earlier in the group stage. The odds don’t look to be in Celtic’s favor.
Unlike many of their Champions League compatriots, both teams in this match are in fairly good health — only Anthony Ralston is missing for Celtic FC, and Paris Saint-Germain are only without Thiago Motta.
