Manchester City started hot under new boss Pep Guardiola, but they now look definitively out of the title race, and will have to settle for a top four push. They have a chance to get back on track this Wednesday, but face a tricky match against West Ham United.

Can the Citizens get back to winning ways in London?

While West Ham was essentially forced into selling Dimitri Payet this week, they’ve been playing better without him as of late. With their side built around target striker Andy Carroll instead of Payet, they’ve won their last two matches, and are now well clear of the relegation battle.
For City, all eyes will be on Gabriel Jesus, their exciting 19-year-old new signing. He was electric off the bench against Tottenham Hotspur and will get a bigger role against the Hammers.
The Citizens’ only missing player is Ilkay Gündogan, who is likely out for the season with a knee injury. West Ham has a longer list of absentees — Alvaro Arbeloa, Arthur Masuaku, Havard Nordveit, Angelo Ogbonna and Gökhan Tore are all out. Andre Ayew is at Africa Cup of Nations, Cheikhou Kouyate is not yet available after returning from that tournament, and new signing Robert Snodgrass is recovering from a knock suffered while with Hull.
