It’s going to be a star-studded night at the Allianz Arena on Friday, with Bayern Munich and Arsenal going head to head in the Champions League round of 16. These are two huge teams with quite a history against each other — and not a history that Arsenal have enjoyed.
Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal 2017: What is the start time and TV schedule for Champions League game?
Both Wednesday games look excellent, but there’s going to be an incredible amount of star power on the pitch at the Allianz Arena.
Arsenal have never beaten Bayern in Germany, and have only ever won a single point off them outside of England in a competitive match. That bodes poorly for the Gunners in a match they very much need to get something out of in order to get a good chance of advancing past Bayern to the Champions League quarterfinals, but that’s going to be a tremendously difficult task.
Especially when you add form into the equation, things look grim for Arsenal. Bayern haven’t lost since November, while Arsenal have lost five matches since then, including two of their last three. They’re going to have to pull together a maginificent performance to get the goals they need out of this match to stand a good chance of beating Bayern. That’s a tall order — but not one beyond Arsenal if they can get themselves together before kickoff.
