As Tottenham Hotspur arrive after a short jaunt across London to Craven Cottage, it could be understandable if their focus was elsewhere. They’re coming off two brutal losses: one to Liverpool in the Premier League and one to Genk in the Europa League. They need their focus on the FA Cup right now, though, because Fulham will be ready to take advantage of any slip-ups in their opponents’ game plan.

Fulham have won four of their last five matches coming into Sunday’s match, giving them the kind of form and confidence to trouble a reeling Tottenham side. It will require a big step-up from Fulham to get the job done, but with their form and a better level of talent than you may expect from them, they’re not in any way incapable of creating an upset.

But that upset will require Tottenham to make mistakes, and that’s far from a guarantee. Yes, their form is shaky, but Mauricio Pochettino has established a track record of using results like their last two losses and turning them into catalysts for change and improvement in his team. We could very easily see an inspired and hungry Spurs performance in this match, so Fulham cannot afford to look at the situation and get overconfident — and that means this promises to be an interesting and entertaining match no matter what happens.
