On the way to their Champions League match against AS Monaco, the team bus of Borussia Dortmund was hit by explosions on the side of the road not far from their hotel, 10 kilometers from the Westfalenstadion.

Explosives on the road caused the windows of the bus to shatter, which injured one player, defender Marc Bartra. He was transported to a hospital for treatment, and his injuries were not considered serious.

Just over an hour after the explosion, Borussia Dortmund announced that the match would be delayed. The Champions League quarterfinal first leg between Dortmund and AS Monaco will now take place 22 hours later than scheduled, on Wednesday at 12:45 p.m. ET.

Because of the altered schedule, Monaco fans’ travel plans might have been changed too. Dortmund fans, true to their reputation as some of the best in the world, helped out by offering them places to stay overnight so they can still go see the game on Wednesday.

Dortmund police have confirmed that there were three separate explosions that shattered the windows of the bus. On Wednesday morning, they announced that there were two suspects in what they started calling an attack, and that both of them have been arrested.
