One of the most interesting rivalries in recent years renews on Sunday, with Jose Mourinho leading Manchester United against his former club in Chelsea.

This time, the rivalry is being hosted at Old Trafford, with Manchester hoping to slow down Chelsea’s seemingly-inevitable march to the Premier League title. There’s no way for Manchester to get themselves back into the title race at this late stage — barring a complete collapse by Chelsea and the other four teams in front of them, at least — but a win here would start putting pressure on Chelsea again with Tottenham Hotspur slowly pulling closer to the league leaders again.
Of course, Antonio Conte doesn’t much care about that. Chelsea had a seven-point lead in the league coming into the weekend, and even Spurs winning on Saturday does little to change their outlook. Conte’s team is cruising with extreme confidence, and even with an FA Cup semifinal clash against Tottenham looming next weekend, they can afford to put all of their focus on this match here and now in order to not only crush United’s hopes of climbing close to the top four, but of spoiling the title race as well.
Manchester United are coming into this match limping a little bit, especially coming off the news that Juan Mata is going to miss the rest of the season. Both Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are out for several more weeks as well, depleting Manchester’s defense significantly, and both Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney are in doubt for the match. Chelsea, in stark contrast, are in good health, with no major flags to deal with among their squad.
